Your classroom. Your information.
Privacy policy
Effective September 14, 2026
This policy explains how Quizmio, operated by Robert Pickett, handles information on quizmio.app and in the Quizmio Assessments iPad app. Quizmio helps schools and teachers deliver assessments, review student work, and share results. School-managed accounts and classroom records are used to provide that educational service.
We do not sell personal information, serve advertising, or use student records for advertising. Classroom work is not a public profile. Access to it depends on the account’s classroom role and the teacher’s delivery and result-sharing choices.
Information we collect
- Account and classroom information: names, email addresses or usernames, protected password records, school or class membership, roles, invitations, and account preferences. Optional profile information may include an avatar, address, language, time zone, or parent/proctor contact information.
- Learning records: assessment questions, answers, written responses, drawings, graphs, attachments, scanned work, submissions, grades, corrections, and teacher feedback. We also record delivery, timing, readiness, and activity information needed to operate assessments.
- Technical information: IP addresses, browser or device information, request and error logs, session identifiers, and security checks used to keep the service available and protect accounts.
- Support communications: information you choose to send when asking for help or making a privacy request.
How information is used and shared
We use information to authenticate users, connect students with their classroom, deliver and save assessments, provide grades and feedback, send account or classroom messages, resolve support requests, and maintain the security and reliability of the service.
Teachers and authorized school users can access records for the classrooms they manage. Students can access their own assigned work and the results their teacher releases. Parents or proctors receive access when a teacher explicitly uses a delivery or sharing feature for them. Authorized Quizmio administrators may access records to operate the service, provide support, or investigate a security issue.
Service providers process information needed to deliver the service. Hosting and storage run on Hivelocity infrastructure in the United States. DreamHost handles support email and account messages. Cloudflare Turnstile processes connection and browser information for anti-abuse checks on applicable website forms. Quizmio currently does not enable Google Analytics or Sentry on its production service.
If a teacher connects Google Classroom where that integration is available, Quizmio imports the selected course and roster information with the teacher’s authorization. Some website profile screens may request an avatar from Gravatar using an email-derived identifier. Links or media included by teachers may connect to external websites whose own privacy policies apply. Apple handles app distribution and any information you provide directly to Apple under Apple’s policies.
We may disclose information when required by applicable law or when necessary to protect users, investigate misuse, or respond to a security incident.
Cookies, device storage, and permissions
The website uses cookies and browser storage for sign-in, request security, interface preferences, and assessment operation. Blocking required cookies can prevent sign-in or saving work. Signing out ends the current authenticated session; clearing browser data removes locally stored preferences and may remove unsent work.
The iPad app stores session cookies in the device Keychain to keep you signed in; it does not save your password. It may keep temporary answer drafts on the device to recover interrupted work. Camera or photo access is optional and is used when you choose to attach work. Only content you select or capture for an answer is uploaded. You can change these permissions in iPad Settings. The service requires an internet connection.
Students and school-managed accounts
Quizmio is intended for educational use arranged by a school or teacher, including use by younger students under school or parent supervision. Student accounts are provided or approved through classroom access, rather than an open public student signup. Schools and teachers are responsible for arranging any required notices and permissions for their students and for choosing appropriate assessment content.
Parents and guardians can contact the student’s school or teacher about classroom records. They may also contact Quizmio using the address below. We may need to verify identity and coordinate with the school before providing access or changing a student record.
Retention, access, and deletion
Classroom and account records are retained while needed to provide the service and maintain the school’s assessment history. Records do not automatically expire when an assessment ends. Retention depends on the school’s instructions and any applicable recordkeeping, security, or legal needs.
You or your school can request access, correction, an export, or deletion of personal information by contacting support@quizmio.app. For school-managed records, we will coordinate with an authorized school representative. We may retain information that must be kept for legal obligations, security, or resolving a dispute. Copies in backups may remain until those backups are replaced and are not used for ordinary classroom access.
You can stop optional camera/photo access in device settings and disconnect a Google integration through your Google account permissions. If you want to withdraw permission for school-managed use, contact your school and Quizmio; this may limit continued access to the service. Removing the iPad app does not delete records stored by the school on quizmio.app.
Security and policy changes
Quizmio uses HTTPS, authenticated access, classroom authorization, and protected storage for private student uploads. No online service can guarantee absolute security. Please use a private password, sign out on shared devices, and report suspected unauthorized access to support.
We will update this page when our practices change and revise the effective date. If a change materially affects how we handle personal information, we will provide an appropriate notice to affected account holders or schools.
Contact
For privacy, account access, or deletion requests, contact Robert Pickett at support@quizmio.app. Please identify your school and the type of request. Do not send passwords or unnecessary student records by email.
